Happy Ever After: A Bridal Diary

Complete with hand-drawn illustrations, this diary offers a glimpse of a young bride’s experience in her search for the perfect wedding gown after accepting her sweetheart’s proposal. As she embarks on the selection process for the right gown, she has to decide which of the three silhouettes – the Classic, the Romantic and the Dramatic, suit her. In order to have the perfect gown and wedding, she approaches Sylvia Kho, Singapore’s first bridal gown designer and entrepreneur. From the late 1940s to 1990s, Sylvia Kho helped to dress many brides and later, also provided wedding packages (which included the bridal gown, hairstyling and makeup services, and bridal car decoration) to many couples in Singapore. This bridal diary thus pays tribute to Sylvia Kho who also donated her bridal collection that dates between the 1960s and the 1990s to the National Museum of Singapore.
